Schools in Category: Most Competitive (less than 10%)
The most competitive schools in the country tend to accept less than 10% of all applicants. Oftentimes, these are also the most challenging schools in the country and attract many applicants whose credentials are all quite promising. However, in addition to many Ivy League institutions, highly competitive schools also include those which have extremely difficult admissions standards and offer students limited tuition costs, such as Cooper Union in Manhattan and the Naval Academy at Annapolis–both of which are extremely prestigious and completely tuition-free for all students.
