The Atlantic Coast Conference, or ACC, is a college-level athletic division whose 12 member schools compete in 23 Division I NCAA sports. Considered one of the “power conferences,” the grouping’s football champion automatically wins a spot in the Bowl Championship Series each year; regardless of this, the ACC is best known for its teams’ success in college basketball. Current members of the ACC are: Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virgina, Virginia State, and Wake Forest.
