While many universities within this designation–such as Columbia in New York–offer a set campus within the hustle of a city, others–like Boston University in its namesake city–instead immerse their buildings and culture within the greater city. Many of these schools’ locations may compromise the community feel that students get at a suburban or rural school. However, many students actively such a compromise, and welcome the opportunities of an urban school happily.
