College Admissions Profiles

Mid-sized schools offer a “best of both worlds”-type opportunity to many students who seek both a community feel and a larger campus experience. Many of the nation’s most elite colleges–including most Ivy League schools–have undergraduate enrollment between 2,500 and 7,500 students. These schools traditionally maintain a lower student-to-faculty ratio but may simultaneously offer the opportunity for some larger lectures or class sections. Furthermore, these schools oftentimes offer a wider range of personalities within their student bodies. Among the schools with moderately-sized student bodies are Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Wake Forest, and many others.
