Our Story

StudyPoint's founders had a simple idea: to create a better alternative to impersonal learning centers.

With that goal in mind, co-founders Richard Enos and Greg Zumas began StudyPoint (StudySmart, Inc.) in Boston in the late 1990's. They focused on the needs of families who wanted a higher level of customer service and convenience, and on students who would benefit from individualized, one-to-one instruction.

Early on, the company invested heavily in curriculum development and training standards, so that its tutors could deliver consistent and reliable academic and test prep results to families. As the company grew, it added additional services and programs, ranging from individualized needs assessments to innovative online homework tools.

After establishing a strong base in Boston, the founders repeated their model for success in Washington DC, New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia. Continued positive feedback and results led to continued expansion across the US.  Today StudyPoint offers one-to-one, private in-home tutoring in 23 metropolitan areas across the country and has established itself as a national leader in its field.

Based on its success with face-to-face tutoring, in late 2011 the company developed an innovative model for delivering one-to-one online tutoring. After years of exploration and thinking, the company launched a pilot to study the efficacy of its programs when delivered online. The pilot entailed giving away almost $250,000 worth of free tutoring to study student outcomes from online tutoring, and at its conclusion the founders were thrilled to find that the online students earned nearly identical score improvements to their face-to-face counterparts. As a result of this successful pilot, the company launched online tutoring to students across the country in 2012, and today serves thousands of students nationally and internationally via its online tutoring programs.

Throughout the years, StudyPoint has earned numerous awards for its exceptional growth (Inc 500/5000 nine times, BBJ Pacesetters three times) and its progressive work-environment (50 Most Engaged Workplaces two times). Current Full Time Positions

StudyPoint provides a unique service to families across the country: one-on-one, individualized tutoring with access to a proven curriculum and a national network of support. You’ll join a high-growth, technologically-driven education company and, as a member of its tightly-knit marketing team, play a key role in shaping the future of StudyPoint’s online marketing ventures.  If you are able to own and lead multiple key initiatives independently, have an analytical/data-driven mindset, are a creative problem solver, and take pride in deploying high quality marketing efforts, then we encourage you to learn more about joining our team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the continuous improvement of our paid search, content network, and remarketing campaigns across a variety of advertising platforms, including Adwords, Bing Ads, and Facebook.
  • Work with outside design partners and our in-house tech team to continuously improve our onsite conversion rates.
  • Continuously optimize our websites to increase both paid and organic leads and provide advice and input regarding the search implications of website updates/revamps.
  • Work with sales team counterparts to assess and improve our lead conversion efforts.
  • Work with teammates to design, build, and launch new marketing campaigns and initiatives to identify productive new marketing channels.
Qualifications
  • A strong intellect (and a Bachelor’s Degree).
  • A data-driven, analytical approach to problem solving.
  • A compulsive adherence to A/B (or multivariable) testing.
  • 1-5 years of search marketing experience, preferably in highly data-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with the major PPC platforms and analytics tools.
  • A working knowledge of HTML.
  • An exceptional work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional analytical and reporting skills, and a thorough knowledge of Excel.
  • A successful track record of improving revenue and profits through onsite optimization efforts.
  • A thorough knowledge of current best practices and trends in both SEO and SEM, and an ability to learn and adapt as those industries evolve.

An innovator in the education industry seeks a talented direct marketer to join our marketing team. This individual will join an innovative, technologically-driven education company and, as a member of its tightly-knit marketing team, will play a key role in shaping the future of that company’s marketing efforts.  If you are able to own and lead multiple key initiatives independently, have excellent project management skills and detail orientation, enjoy analyzing data, and take pride in deploying high quality marketing campaigns, then we encourage you to learn more about joining our team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the continuous improvement of our existing direct response campaigns.
  • Work with CEO to maximize ROI on our $1.5 million direct response budget.
  • Lead the full life cycle of our direct response campaigns, including: analysis of past campaign results, campaign strategy development, and overseeing production and deployment of current campaigns.
  • Manage relationships with key vendors in our production chain.
  • Communicate with internal stake-holders to ensure sales/marketing alignment.
  • Analyze campaign results to assess segment grouping performance and help determine direction of future campaigns.
  • Lead thinking on strategy to drive continuous improvement of direct response efforts.
  • Collaborate with marketing teammates and other staff to maximize impact of all channels.
 
Qualifications
  • A strong intellect (and a Bachelor’s Degree).
  • A passion for marketing and start-ups.
  • A data-driven, analytical approach to problem solving.
  • A compulsive adherence to A/B (or multivariate) testing.
  • 2-5 years of marketing experience.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • Experience managing complex campaigns with multiple segments and data-management requirements.
