With so many options from which to choose, selecting the best test prep support for your child can be challenging. My goal, therefore, is to help you understand what sets StudyPoint's ACT tutoring apart from other ACT prep options you may be considering.

It's easy for companies to claim that they have the best ACT tutors or the best curriculum, but in the end the only way to sort through all those claims is to focus on one thing: their average ACT score increase. The best thing about this industry is that there is an objective and highly standardized measuring stick: you have a pre-program score and a post-program score. The difference between those two is your ACT score increase. It's a straightforward concept, yet far too many companies are unwilling or unable to disclose this critical number.

At StudyPoint we've always worked hard to collect this data from our clients, and we're transparent about our results: on the ACT our students increase an average of 3.9 points, and on the SAT our students increase an average of 124 points. And many of our students' results are literally double those averages.

An Approach that Addresses Your Child’s Specific Needs

When a program is designed to address the individual needs of each student, it is called Differentiated Instruction. We’re a leader in Differentiated Instruction and have structured our ACT tutoring programs to create a personalized learning path for each student. This means your child’s ACT program will focus exclusively on those areas where he or she needs the most help. We accomplish this in three ways:

One-to-One Tutoring

Private tutoring, by definition, is Differentiated Instruction. A private ACT tutor can focus on specific strengths and weaknesses and move through content areas and strategies at a pace that is appropriate for your child. And since one-to-one tutoring provides a safe environment for your child to ask questions and admit when he or she is confused, the instructor is well positioned to identify and address problem areas.

Assessment Technologies

Before meeting with the tutor, your child will take an initial Practice ACT. This exam is run through our diagnostic software to provide a detailed report of your child’s performance in different content areas and question types. The tutor then uses these results to focus the program on your child's specific needs. As the program continues, your child will take additional ACT practice tests to ensure that he or she is progressing as expected.

Curriculum Mapping & Personalized Homework

Homework is an essential component of test preparation - the more you practice the better your scores. As a result, we developed Curriculum Mapping technologies that use your child's ACT Practice Test data to create a Personalized Homework Plan with practice problems tailored to his or her current mastery levels. As your child improves, the system presents increasingly difficult material to ensure that he or she is appropriately challenged throughout the program.

Online ACT Tutoring

Instead of meeting at the kitchen table your child and the tutor meet in a custom online learning environment. This innovative tool enables them to talk through strategies and complete practice problems, just as they would on a workbook at your kitchen table. Online ACT tutoring replicates the in-person tutoring dynamic, and it’s remarkably effective.
