In less than 70 years since its founding, Binghamton University, part of the State University of New York system, has become one of the nation’s premier public universities. Binghamton is home to Pulitzer Prize winning faculty, major research facilities and a wide array of academic options including Education, Management and Engineering, to name a few. Additionally, Binghamton has been recognized for its innovation in international education. Students come from more than 100 countries to attend the university, and in many instances, classes offer study groups in up to 4 or 5 languages for a single course. Furthermore, many courses focus on cultural and intellectual exchange of ideas.
In order to create an engaging, intellectually stimulating, and social environment for students, Binghamton is continuously expanding and improving its facilities. In just a few years, Binghamton has transformed from a small liberal arts college to a nationally renowned research institution. Despite the school’s large size, students have a close-knit experience through 200 clubs and organizations, athletic pride and the residential communities, modeled after Oxford University. On the whole, Binghamton students enjoy their experience, as evidenced by the impressive 92% retention rate and the 25% of students that remain at Binghamton for graduate school.
