Somewhat Competitive (40%-80%)

College Admissions Profiles

Schools that fit into the “somewhat competitive” category certainly do not accept every application submitted, but they do tend to be more open to a wider range of candidates. The majority of U.S. colleges fall into this category of competitiveness, and as such, within this category fall schools of varying degrees of difficulty. Many larger public universities also fall into this designation–but it is important to note that competitiveness at these schools differ between in- and out-of-state residents. Schools that fit comfortably into this grouping include Boston University, University of Delaware, and Penn State.
