The University of Southern Florida is a public research university in Tampa, Florida. The USF System consists of four campuses, including the main campus in Tampa, USF Polytechnic, USF Sarasota-Manatee, and USF St. Petersburg (a separately accredited institution). USF offers 89 undergraduate majors and 139 graduate degree programs. Home to the USF Health Byrd Alzheimer's Institute, one of the nation's top research centers for Alzheimer's disease, USF is highly regarded for its extensive research contributions. The University is consistently ranked as one of the top universities receiving the most research funding. USF hosts a diverse student body, and about one-third of the school's undergraduates identify themselves as students of color.

A member of the Big East Conference, USF offers an exceptional variety of athletic programs, including basketball, football, bowling, volleyball, and ice hockey. The school is also home to several unique facilities, including a weather station, a botanical garden, and an anthropology museum. The University is located just ten miles from downtown Tampa, an area rich in tourist attractions, museums, sports venues, performing arts centers, and cultural activities.
