A Letter From Our CEO

Dear Parent -

SAT Subject Tests are a less talked about but highly important component of most students' college applications.

Many colleges require at least one SAT Subject Test as part of their applications. These exams demonstrate a student’s proficiency in specific academic subject areas, and utilize a tandardized test format similar to that of the SAT and ACT, though they are shorter in length and more focused on subject-specific content coverage. We offer tutoring in each subject offered by the College Board, including Math Levels 1 & 2, Chemistry, Phyics, and more. Students typically take these exams in the spring of their sophomore and junior years or the fall of senior year.

We are a national leader in SAT Subject Test tutoring, and our success stems from three main factors:

  1. Personalization: Private tutoring is the single most efficient and effective way for students to learn. With a private SAT Subject Test tutor, your child will have the instructor’s undivided attention, and can work at a pace that is appropriate for his or her needs.

  2. Tutors: We have an exceptional team of instructors who have been carefully screened and then trained on how to customize our SAT Subject Test curricula to address each student’s strengths and weaknesses.

  3. Convenience: We understand that tutoring is just one part of your family’s calendar, and to make things work for our families, we’ve focused on private, in-home tutoring since our founding in 1999. Today, you have the option to have a tutor come right to your home, or to work with one of our highly experienced online tutors.

From here I encourage you to continue reading below to learn more about our SAT Subject Test tutoring. We're very good at what we do, and we would welcome the opportunity to work with your family.

Sincerely,

An Approach That Addresses Your Child’s Specific Needs

When a program is designed to address the individual needs of each student, it is called Differentiated Instruction. We’re a leader in Differentiated Instruction and have structured our programs to create a personalized learning path for each student. This means your child’s program will focus exclusively on those areas where he or she needs the most help. We accomplish this in three ways:

One-to-One Tutoring

Private tutoring, by definition, is Differentiated Instruction. A private SAT Subject Test tutor can focus on your child’s specific strengths and weaknesses and move through content areas and strategies at a pace that is appropriate for your child. And since tutoring provides a safe environment for your child to ask questions and admit when he or she is confused, the instructor is well positioned to identify and address problem areas.

Individual Assessment

Before meeting with the tutor, your child will take an initial Diagnostic SAT Subject Test. This exam is reviewed in detail by your tutor. The tutor then uses these results to focus the program on your child's specific needs. As the program continues, your child will take one additional practice test to ensure that he or she is progressing as expected.

Focused Curriculum & Homework

Homework is an essential component of test preparation. Simply put, the more you practice the better your scores. Your tutor will customize our curriculum to match your student's learning style and comfort level. By using the restults of the diagnostic test and an additional practice test, your tutor will assign homework that ensures your child is appropriately challenged throughout the program.

How We Achieve
Our Industry-Leading Results

Targeted Curriculum

For the SAT Subject Tests, our in-house curriculum team researches the best materials for each exam, and provides highly targeted content.

Program Oversight

Your Program Manager will monitor your child's progress and, if necessary, work with you and your tutor to make adjustments.

Expert Tutors

We're extremely selective for both intellect and teaching ability when sourcing prospective tutors, and, unlike many companies, we provide comprehensive training.

Matching Process

We'll work with you to find the right tutor match: someone who can explain difficult concepts and motivate your child.

Practice with Real SAT Subject Tests

Practice and familiarity are essential to earning a stronger score, so we provide an initial diagnostic test and one additional practice test for each SAT Subject Test program.

Time on Task

Between the tutoring, homework, and practice tests your child will spend 15-20 hours learning and building confidence for test day.

You (and your family) are busy

To be effective, an educational program has to work with your family's schedule. We make life easier by bringing the tutoring to you through two convenient options:

In home tutoring

Our flagship program, which we launched in the late 1990's, our in-home tutoring option provides you with the unparalleled convenience and personalized attention of a private SAT subject test tutor who will work with your child right at your kitchen table. All lessons are one-to-one, and your instructor will ensure that each session is highly focused on your child’s unique needs.

Online test Tutoring

Instead of meeting at the kitchen table your child and the tutor meet in a custom online learning environment. This innovative tool enables them to talk through strategies and complete practice problems, just as they would on a workbook at your kitchen table. Online SAT Subject Test tutoring replicates the in-person tutoring dynamic, and it’s remarkably effective.
