SAT Test Schedule 2011: StudyPoint's Recommended Spring SAT Testing Timeline

Below you will find StudyPoint's recommended SAT testing timeline for the winter and spring of junior year. The calendar does recommend that your child takes both the SAT and ACT with optional recommendations depending upon whether or not your child will be taking SAT Subject Tests. We suggest that you print the timeline, highlight the dates that apply to your child, and add those dates to your family calendar.

We realize that each student's schedule is unique. If the recommended testing timeline does not fit your child's schedule, we would be happy to work with you to develop a customized timeline.

The timeline below presents options for two different SAT test schedules:

  • Option 1 - If your child is planning to take the SAT, ACT, and SAT Subject tests, then he or she should take the March 12th SAT, April 9th ACT, May 7th SAT, and June 4th SAT Subject Tests.
  • Option 2 - If your child is planning to only take the SAT and ACT (and use ACT scores in lieu of SAT Subject Test scores), then he or she should take the March 12th SAT, May 7th SAT, and June 11th ACT.


Recommended Winter/Spring SAT & ACT Testing Timeline

December or January Begin preparing for the March 12th SAT.
February 11, 2011 Regular registration deadline for the March 12th SAT. Register before this date to avoid late fees.
February 25, 2011 Late registration deadline for the March 12th SAT. There is an additional fee for late registration.
March 4, 2011 Regular registration deadline for the April 9th ACT. Register before this date to avoid late fees. If you plan to take the SAT Subject Tests, you should take the April 9th ACT. If you do not plan to take the SAT Subject Tests, you should wait until June 11th to take the ACT.
March 12, 2011 Take the SAT.
March 18, 2011 Late registration deadline for the April 9th ACT. There is an additional fee for late registration. If you plan to take the SAT Subject Tests, you should take the April 9th ACT. If you do not plan to take the SAT Subject Tests, you should wait until June 11th to take the ACT.
Mid-March Begin preparing for the April 9th ACT (if applicable).
March 31, 2011 March 12th SAT scores available online. Review results, pinpoint areas for improvement, and continue preparing for the May 7th SAT.
April 8, 2011 Regular registration deadline for the May 7th SAT. Register before this date to avoid late fees.
April 9, 2011 Take the ACT (if applicable).
April 22, 2011 Late registration deadline for the May 7th SAT. There is an additional fee for late registration.
April 25, 2011 April 9th ACT scores available online (if applicable). Review results and determine if you should take the test again in the fall (September or October). If the answer is yes, develop a test-prep plan for the summer and early fall.
May 2-13, 2011 AP exam testing period.
May 6, 2011 Regular registration deadline for the June 11th ACT. Register before this date to avoid late fees. If you took the April 9th ACT, you should wait until the fall to take the ACT again.

 

Regular registration deadline for the June 4th SAT Subject Tests. Register before this date to avoid late fees. If you do not plan to take the SAT Subject Tests, you do not need to register.
May 7, 2011 Take the SAT for the second time.
Beginning of May Begin preparing for the June 4th SAT Subject Tests (if applicable).

 

Begin preparing for the June 11th ACT (if applicable).
May 20, 2011 Late registration deadline for the June 11th ACT. There is an additional fee for late registration. If you took the April 9th ACT, you should wait until the fall to take the ACT again.

 

Late registration deadline for the June 4th SAT Subject Tests. Register before this date to avoid late fees. If you do not plan to take the SAT Subject Tests, you do not need to register.
May 26, 2011 May 7th SAT test scores available online. Review results and determine if you should take the test again in the fall (October or November). If the answer is yes, develop a test-prep plan for the summer and early fall.
June 4, 2011 Take the SAT Subject Tests (if applicable).
June 11, 2011 Take the ACT (if applicable).
June 23, 2011 June 4th SAT Subject Test scores available online (if applicable). Review results and determine if you should take the tests again in the fall (October or November). If the answer is yes, develop a test-prep plan for the summer and early fall.
June 27, 2011 June 11th ACT scores available online (if applicable). Review results and determine if you should take the test again in the fall (September and October). If the answer is yes, develop a test-prep plan for the summer and early fall.
