SSAT Registration: How to register for the SSAT

Ready to register your child for the SSAT? Registration for the SSAT is available online.

Online SSAT Registration
Online SSAT registration is available for students testing on a national test date or as a flex test administration (testing with an educational consultant, a regional consortium, or an alternate group test date offered by your child's school). Go to the Registration page of the SSAT website to learn how to register for a national test date or a flex test administration. Keep in mind that students may only take one flex test administration a year (August through July). The regular registration fee is $144.

Registration Deadlines
Regular SSAT registration deadlines typically fall about three weeks before a test date; late SSAT registration deadlines typically fall about two weeks before a test date. Students registering by mail/fax must register by the regular registration deadlines. Visit our SSAT Test Dates page to view specific regular and late registration deadlines.

Rush Registration
If a student misses the regular and late registration deadlines, he or she can register for the SSAT as a standby tester. SSAT standby registration is available online from two weeks before a test date through 8:00am on the test date. Standby registration does not guarantee a student a seat; standby registrants will be admitted based on seat and test booklet availability. There is an $85 fee for standby testing (in addition to the regular $144 registration fee). Visit the SSAT website fo ran SSAT Test Day Checklist.
