College Admissions Profiles

The NCAA’s Division II is an intermediate level of competition for college athletics. This grouping is known for a smaller budget than Division I athletics, but colleges in Division II still may offer athletic scholarships. A notable difference between Divisions I and II is that, in the latter, very few of the 100,000 student-athletes competing are awarded full athletic scholarships, though a majority do receive partial financial help. The average enrollment for a Division II school is about 4,500 students. This Division is noted for an athlete’s ability to play at a decently competitive level while maintaining an otherwise relatively “normal” college experience.
